White polished porcelain – it’s just not white, is it?
It’s because the surface colour is produced from within the body of the tile (homogenous porcelain) not applied to it (glazed porcelain)
Typically it is the homogenous type of porcelain tiles that are polished after production to give a shiny glass-like surface.
The recipe of raw materials within the body that provide colour combines elements of nature that are just not very white however processed and purified they are, and the so-called Super Whites are often Super “off-white/cream” – especially the lower-priced ones…….these less densely pressed tiles have larger particles forming the body and so when the surface is polished it creates larger pores – which means that the surface is very liable to staining. Nightmare!
These pictures of our Extreme White 60×60 tile don’t convey its “whiteness” so email us at salesadmin@cmq-int.co.uk, or call on 0113 2310 218 and ask for a cut-down sample – you will be as amazed as we are at just how WHITE it is.
Plus as it’s a glazed and polished tile – it won’t stain – ever…..
