Case Study – The Lodge

Stuart and Gail Panton discovered Tiles and Mosaics as passers-by – like 20% of our clients do…and it soon became clear to our Showroom Manager Emma that Stuart was a bit of a perfectionist. (I’m sure he won’t mind that description) Emma’s natural attention to detail made them a good team.

Gail’s skill as a specialist interior decorator brought plenty of relevant opinions about colour and texture to put into the mix!

The project was the complete rebuilding of an old lodge at a heritage location as their new home, and by coincidence, they had selected their kitchen at Omega plc in Doncaster.

Tiles and mosaics have worked closely with Omega plc, and Stuart and Gail were impressed by the quality and finish of the 800 sqm of polished Marte series porcelain which covers their entire showroom floor and reception – which also includes a large feature wall of split-face slate mosaic…..but more of that later…

As the focal point of any home, kitchen flooring needs to look timeless and be practical – and so Tuscan Stone 60×60 in Mid Grey provides both, and in spades!  – as the Lappato polishing reflects light for a truly stunning style.

These polished tiles will look this good forever as they won’t stain or scratch and are an absolute doddle to clean.

Look at how the grey tones within the worktop are picked up by the colour of the tile – nice coordination Gail!

No two tiles are alike, another great feature of modern technology which creates a visually stimulating environment.

And don’t these tiled steps look FANTASTIC?

This feature wall of slate is the first thing you see as you enter the house – that’s how to impress your friends!

The main bathroom features Marte series to create a soothing atmosphere with a replica of Thassos polished marble fixed in an informal brick bond style.

This theme was followed in the En-suite with Marmogres Polished Pennsylvania – which is a soft grey with random darker veining.

And as Stuart likes a workout in his man-cave we all thought something woody was highly appropriate – the gym machinery won’t scratch these porcelain tiles from the Reserve series, and we bet you can’t tell the difference between the tiles and the real aged wood that they emulate.

All in all a proper House of Tiles, created  in harmony with Tilesandmosaics.co.uk and great photography kindly provided by Stuart
