Are these bathroom floor tiles non-slip? You ask us this question all the time. Hey, after all, we are a nation of carpet users, but in a bathroom, no thanks -YUK!
Laminates, engineered wood, vinyl—all these hard flat surfaces can be slippery when your bare feet are wet. However, with tiles, at least, you can have the choice of different textures. The A B C rating is the easiest guide—put very simply, it equates to Good, Better, Best.
Tiles offering an A+B+C barefoot rating reduce the aquaplaning effect between bare feet and moisture. They will be more heavily textured, like this one from the Mineral series, which has an A+B-rated surface.
Sometimes as well as the texture, highly rated tiles may also have particles on the surface to further enhance non-slip characteristics.
Inevitably there is a trade-off so A+B+C surfaces will just need cleaning a bit more regularly. All our non-slip tiles are dead easy to clean, so no worries!
If you do want very shiny/polished floor tiles like these from the Lithos series (they have no rating) then no problem – all you need to remember is to stand on a towel after you shower so your skin is dry when you step on them – dry skin tends to adhere to shiny surfaces – just press your hand firmly onto a window and push up and down and you can feel this effect.
