The thieves who stole from us put the strength question to a rather severe test when they unbolted the office safe and rolled it down the stairs, just 20 Minutes after Emma had closed up on a Saturday afternoon – Can you believe it???? (ceramic tiles – fully vitrified glazed from Gail in Germany) and into the entrance hall (porcelain tiles – homogenous unglazed polished from Casalgrande in Italy)

And the answer?

Well, both are very strong indeed…but everything has its limits, and we have decided to leave the petty cash box out in future to minimise the damage caused!

Gail tiles that were used in Meadowhall Shopping Centre food court still look good after 25 years.

Casalgrande tiles in Leeds Railway Station shopping mall also look fab after 15 years of wear and tear.
