Another award winning tile range

Crucible by Marazzi, the collection that reinterprets in stoneware the beauty of handmade tiles, has won the award for the best design product in the “Finishes” category in the international competition held by Archiproducts, the architecture and design community that receives 46 million visits a year and has more than 1.7 million registered users.

The jury, consisting this year of 60 international architecture firms considered over 700 products entered by 400 brands from all over the world, and selected the best ground-breaking material effects and the solutions of outstanding originality and emotional power, as well as considering suitability for tomorrow’s contexts of use and concepts in both residential and contract sectors.

Lume is manufactured with new production technology and in-depth research into glazes and colour, and offers a stoneware evocation – in the unusual 6×24 cm size – of the beauty of ultra-glossy handmade tiles, with their dense glaze and minor flaws.

Impressed with its irregularities and the variations in colour and patterning, as well as the depth of the colours – White, Black, Blue, Musk and Greige – the jury chose Crucible for the Finishes category award for the quality of its surfaces and the uniqueness of every single possible composition.

Crogiolo, (the translation to English is “crucible”) in fact, originated from research into innovative solutions to produce the authentic effect of handmade ceramic tiles: warm materials, tactile surfaces, and products born from the blending of craftsmen’s knowledge with industrial technology, using state-of-the-art production technologies to give a contemporary interpretation to potters’ skills while retaining the uniqueness of their creations.
