Tile your floor correctly, and make it bigger!

By using square tiles you can tile your floor to make it bigger.

It’s about the maths  – for example, a 30x30cm square tile has a corner-to-corner diagonal dimension of 40cm.

So if you fix it diagonally across the room it will make the room feel wider because you will see the bigger diagonal dimension of the tile when you enter the room, and this dimension “stretches” the shape of the room in your mind’s eye

This tip is especially useful for long narrow rooms and corridors.
