What is the Chevron pattern?
Chevron is becoming increasing popular and will give you a classic and timeless, luxurious floor or wall look. Despite is stand out deign it is often confused with herringbone flooring but they are not the same. Whilst both create a similar zig zag pattern the herringbone pattern doesn’t meet end to end as it is cut at 90 ° angles whereas a chevron tile pattern is made from rows of interlocking parallelograms. They are joined end to end in order to create a zigzag pattern which can run parallel or perpendicular. History of the Chevron design
The Chevron design although popular now dates back as far as the Greeks who used the design on their poetry in the early 1800’s BC. And despite remaining a well sought after look it was the French who brought it to prominence in the 1500’s in their castles and courts.
